North Area - Arden Arcade

Arden Arcade is a beautiful and vibrant community of nearly 100,000 people in the heart of Sacramento County.

The community’s land-use decisions are made by the Arden Arcade Community Planning Commission, a seven-member body appointed by the County Board of Supervisors. The Commission meets monthly to vote on issues ranging from lot-splits to cell phone towers.

Council work is guided, in part, by the Arden Arcade Community Plan. Originally developed in 1980, the Plan has been updated via an extensive public involvement process.   Visit the Planning and Community Development website to view the plan and Arden maps.

Arden Arcade Community Forum and Expo

Nearly 200 residents attended the forum on November 12 to hear a panel discussion about public safety issues, the annexation/incorporation process and County services such as code enforcement, transportation, parks and more. Listen to a complete audio tape of the Arden Arcade meeting.

Answers to questions that were submitted at the forum will be posted  soon.

 WHAT'S NEW!

Gibson Ranch Park to Close for Winter
Due to continuing loss of state and local taxes, the park will be closed effective November 23. We hope to be able to open the park on the weekends in the spring. Work continues with community groups to find revenue solutions for this valuable regional asset. The horse boarding, trail rides, horseback lessons and other services provided by the concessionaire will still be available. Those boarding horses at the Park will continue to have access to the equestrian facilities operated by the concessionaire.
Building Inspection-Development Services Hours Changing
Effective November 16, all Building Inspection front counters will be closed on Fridays. Simple building permits may be purchased online, and inspections will be conducted. Note: the Community Service Centers will be open for other business.
County Utilities and Information Call Center Changing Hours
Effective November 23, the Call Centers will be open from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday. For more information about services such as report nuisances and paying bills online, visit the Call Center website.
Announcing ONLINE Building Permit Services!

Apply and pay for permits, receive fee estimates, schedule inspections and check permit status online. View Building Inspection website for details.

Closures along American River
Due to budget reductions, beginning September 14, 2009, several access sites along the Parkway will be closed to vehicles. Signs will be posted, and visitors may still enter the areas on foot and bicycles. For information on specific access points and alternate routes, view Parks Access News Release. At Upper Sunrise, the road to the cobble beach known as the "fishing access" will be closed through Dec. 31.
Note: The Jacob Lane levee project has been postponed until Spring 2010.
