What's New - LAPCATS Celebrates Milestone 700th Adoption August 5th!
Through a partnership with the Elk Grove PetSmart, LAPCATS has found homes for 707 lucky felines to date! Since April 2005, LAPCATS volunteers have been dedicated to finding homes for some of the wonderful cats and kittens that enter the Animal Shelter every day, and they also work to educate the public about spaying/neutering pet, animal behavior issues, and the lifetime commitment involved when bringing a pet into the family. In partnership with PetSmart, and TEAM, the non-profit support group of our shelter, volunteers started the center in 2005 and continue to counsel adopters, foster cats until homes are found and educate shoppers about animal issues. They work extra hard to find adult cats new forever homes.
All cats adopted through the LAPCAT program have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, treated for fleas, wormed, tested negative for felv/fiv, have a voucher for a free office visit with a participating vet and get a County license.
