Pet licenses are necessary because they help Animal Care and Regulation staff identify loose animals and reunite them with their owners. The annual license reminders also help residents stay current on their pet's rabies vaccinations. Both dogs and cats should be licensed. We provide licensing services for the unincorporated area of Sacramento and those cities within the County that contract with us for service. ACR accepts cash, debit cards, Visa, and Mastercard and checks for licenses only, but if you are clearing a citation, you may not pay with a check. The fees are listed below:
