No Statement of Income Required for Pit Bull (+ mixes) and Cats

In addition to the low-cost spay/neuter program for pet owners with less than $35,000 annual household income, the County Animal Shelter’s now offers spay/neuter services without requiring a statement of income for pit bulls, pit bull mixes and domestic cats. Additionally, a separate program offers free sterilization of feral cats. These services are available in partnership with the Sacramento Area Animal Coalition (SAAC).

How to Apply for Vouchers

Residents of unincorporated Sacramento County and the cities of Citrus Heights, Isleton and Galt can apply for vouchers domestic animals:

At the Sacramento County Animal Shelter, 3839 Bradshaw Road; or
SAAC online at www.sacanimal.org; or

Program Highlights

Feral Cats

Caretakers receive a voucher for spay/neuter surgery, FVRCP, rabies vaccination and ear tip (Limit two vouchers per application)
No co-pay or income restrictions
Must apply for voucher directly through SAAC online or call 916-808-SPAY

Domestic Cats, Pit Bulls/Mixes and Other Dog (Limit 4 vouchers per household)

Owners receive voucher for surgery, rabies vaccination, and one-year County animal license
Domestic Cats: Co-pay $10, No income restrictions for owners
Pit Bulls/Mixes: Co-pay $15, No income restrictions for owners
All Other Dog Breeds: Co-pay $15, Household Income limit $35K/year
