The permit counter is the gateway to Sacramento County Building Inspection. This is the starting point in the building permit process, whether you are replacing an electrical panel or building an entire structure. Our staff consists of building inspectors, engineering technicians and clerical support. We will review your application and plans to start the permit process before passing it along to plan review and eventually field inspections. If there are no requirements for plan review, staff will generally be able to issue the permit in one visit.
General Submittal Requirements Include:
- Completed and signed Applications Part “A” and Part “B”. Applications received without BOTH Part A and Part B will not be accepted.
- Complete sets (typically 3) of plans including a cover sheet, plot plan and detailed drawings of the construction. See the Commercial/Residential document for more detailed submittal information.
- Other items that may be required are structural calculations, Title-24 energy documentation and equipment specifications.
- A copy of the construction contract to verify project valuation.
