  • Obtain estimates from several surveyors or qualified engineers for the cost of doing the survey and map.
Where is my property line?
  • If your property has been surveyed and a map filed, obtain a copy of the map from the LDSIR or Technical Resources  section, the Recorders' office or your title company, and see if any corners were monumented.
  • If your property has not been mapped, then you must have it surveyed.
How do I find out if I have an easement on my property?
  • For public easements, contact the Technical Resources section to see if any easements are shown on the Assessor's parcel pages or if any easements show up on recorded maps.
  • For private easements, check your Title Report or contact a title company to obtain one.
Where are my utility lines?
  • Contact the appropriate utility company.
  • Contact Technical Resources and/or LDSIR to see if any easements show on the assessor's books or on the improvements plans, if any.
  • If you plan on doing any digging or trenching, call Underground Service Alert, (USA), at 1-800-642-2444.
Do I need a permit to cut down my tree?

Not all trees require a permit. Contact the County Tree Coordinator James Schubert at 874-6291.
