The Delta community of Sacramento County is characterized primarily by its quiet rural lifestyle. The area is crisscrossed by numerous waterways, which divide the land into distinct islands or tracts. Agriculture, (including grapes,) and outdoor recreation/tourism are the prominent activities which take place in the Delta area. The community hosts two well-known festivals; the Pear Fair in Courtland, and the Crawdad Festival in Isleton. There is also a wealth of history to be appreciated in the Delta, including the historical town of Locke. The Delta is truly unique as a getaway from the hurried pace of much of the remainder of Sacramento County.
