About Community Planning Commissions
|
Four Community Planning Commissions have been formed in the unincorporated communities of Arden Arcade, Carmichael/Old Foothill Farms, Fair Oaks and Rio Linda/Elverta. Patterned after the County's Planning Commission, these Commissions are geared to provide local control over many land-use issues that affect the community's quality of life. They replaced their area's Community Planning Advisory Council, a panel that provided advisory recommendations to land-use issues.
The Department of Neighborhood Services, in collaboration with a committee of actively involved residents, has prepared a citizen participation brochure to familiarize residents with the CPC program, meeting procedures, and to facilitate more effective public participation at the CPC hearing.
