We enforce the state housing laws and investigate complaints of substandard housing.
Priority Housing Violations are those that are unsafe for inhabitants and include:
- Collapsing Roof/Ceiling
- Lack of Required Utilities
- Lack of Hot Water
- Leaking Plumbing
- Surfacing Sewage
Other Housing Violations include:
- Broken Windows
- Electrical Malfunction
- Holes in the Wall
- Rodent Harborage
- Unsanitary Conditions
An officer will conduct an inspection within 72 business hours of the complaint for priority housing violations. For all others, an advisory letter will be mailed allowing thirty (30) days for the repairs/corrections to be made. After 30 days, the offer will contact the complainant to check on the status, and inspect the property if necessary. View More Housing Information.
