High Efficiency Washing Machine Rebate Program
The Sacramento County Water Agency is offering customers a rebate, worth up to $100*, to replace old washing machines with a new, more efficient clothes washer.
Old style clothes washing machines waste water, energy and money - most use more than 45 gallons of water per load. High efficiency models cut that number by more than 60 percent because they use only 15 gallons per load, which translates into lower water and energy bills. The new models come in several configurations: top, front and slant loading. While these washers save a lot in water and energy, they are also gentler on your clothes.
If you have any questions, please contact Lisa Williams at 875-1955.
*As part of the United States Bureau of Reclamation (USBR) grant, the Sacramento County Water Agency will offer a $100 rebate for the first 100 customers. Once the money from USBR funding has been spent, the Water Agency will still continue to provide a rebate of $50.
Sacramento Municipal Utility District and Pacific Gas & Electric also have rebate programs - contact them for qualifying machines and rebate availability. You may apply for the Water Agency rebate in addition to SMUD and PG&E. (Note: you will need to apply for these rebates separately.)
