Every year, millions of people descend on the 32-mile Jedediah Smith Memorial Bicycle Trail along the American River Parkway to bike, jog, walk, skate, or go horse-back riding. The bike trail is also a popular spot for special events. It is important that all trail users, regardless of skill level, obey the rules of the bike trail and share the trail.

The Annual Parkway Half Marathon is April 28 - Impacts to the Bike Trail
On Saturday, up 4500 runners, walkers, and spectators will be on the American River Bike Trail participating in this benefit event for the Parkway. The bike trail will be closed from Campus Commons to Lower Sunrise from 7 a.m. to noon. Find more details about the race and the specific maps for runners and walkers. The races will start and end at William B. Pond Recreation Area.
