Permanent Positions

  • Park Ranger I - This is an entry level position of the Park Ranger series, and primarily assist the public at the parks facilities and function as peace officers, enforcing local laws. Additionally, they may perform minor building and grounds maintenance.
  • Park Maintenance Worker I - The entry level class in the park maintenance series, performs assigned maintenance and repair work, and may assist in, or directly instruct, temporary helpers in performing assigned maintenance and repair tasks.

Seasonal, Part-time Positions

  • Park Ranger Assistant - This is an entry point for people seeking a career in the park management field or ranger services. Assistants work under supervision with park visitors, park protection and interpretive activities.
  • Park Maintenance Aide - Aides receive on-the-job training in park maintenance and provide temporary help during peak work loads. Aides are temporary employees and may not gain permanent status in the job class.
  • Park Interpretive Specialist - Specialists perform a wide range of professional park, museum and interpretive programs. They often have heavy public contact and work with exhibits, collections and maintenance and volunteer coordination.
