Sacramento River/Delta - Sherman Island Public Access Facility

Welcome:
The Sherman Island Public Access Facility is surrounded on three sides by the Sacramento River and Mayberry Slough. A small levee road down the center of the island leads to the popular recreation area. The Sacramento River is wide and slow here and the Delta breezes blow fiercely across the tree-lined island. Sherman Island is a secluded place for boaters, windsurfers, kiters, anglers and watercraft enthusiasts to enjoy.

Fast Facts:
  • Sherman Island is part of the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta

How to Get There:
From U.S. Highway 50, take the Interstate 5 south exit. At the intersection of I-5 and Highway 12, take the Highway 12 west. Then exit onto Highway 160, heading south. Turn right onto Sherman Island Road at the point where Highway 160 drops off at the levee. Continue South on Sherman Island Road until it enters the park.
