What's New!                                                          Events

Temporary Alcohol Ban in Effect During 4th of July Weekend on the American River

From Friday, July 3 through Sunday, July 5, alcohol will be banned within the waterway and on the shore from Hazel to Watt Avenues. The Park Rangers will be out in force to make sure visitors to the Parkway stay safe and have fun during the holiday weekend.

Current and Upcoming U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Projects and Detours on American River Parkway

More information to follow soon:

Cal Expo area from June 29 to August 28
The bike trail will be detoured up onto the levee for a short distance near mile 6 (between Ethan Way and Northrup accesses).

Gristmill Park Area from May to September
A staging area is currently being used near the Kansas Way access to make flood safety improvements to the Mayhew Drain.

Arden Bar/William B. Pond Area from July to September
Jacob Lane access and the Sandbar Circle access (near Mile 12) will be closed for levee improvements.
