Resident Animals

Effie Yeaw logo

The Nature Center is home to a few special animals that have been injured or for some reason, cannot survive in the wild. They are accustomed to being handled by staff naturalists and provide learning opportunities about our local wild animals. There are always some animals to see, while others are only available during special weekend programs.

The Nature Center has these animals by special permit, and is not licensed to accept other orphaned or injured wildlife. If you have found a wild animal that needs care, call the Wildlife Care Association at 916 - 965-9453.
