Therapeutic Recreation Services Facts:
- TRS has been providing year-round therapeutic recreation opportunities since 1975
- We serve children, teens and adults with mental, physical, developmental, sensory and emotional impairments or special needs
- Our annual attendance is over 15,000 people
- We provide services at community centers, schools, parks and various sites throughout the community
- We work with our clients on a one-to-one basis, small groups, and large groups
- The goal of each individual is to attain his or her highest level of leisure independence.
- Training is provided in leisure, social, community and independent living skills such as:
- Making good choices
- Learning new leisure skills
- Structuring leisure time
- Identifying and utilizing resources

- Learning money skills
- Learning conversational skills
- Learning proper etiquette
