Request for Street Light Maintenance: We would like to inform you of a significant backlog of street light repairs caused by wire theft throughout the County and ask for your patience as we work towards fixing your streetlight(s). Over the past year and a half, there has been an escalation of copper wire theft throughout our street light system resulting in damage to 400 circuits. Currently, there are 124 street light circuits damaged, resulting in over 1,240 street lights out of service. We are continuing to work on repairing the extensive damage caused by vandalism and theft to the underground conduit wiring system. Click here for additional information.

Scott Road Bike & Walk Event: In support of regional “May is Bike Month”, the Sacramento County Department of Transportation (SACDOT) closed an 8 mile section of Scott Road from White Road Rock to Latrobe Road, on Sunday May 6, from 8 AM to 4 PM. Scott Road is in the eastern portion of Sacramento County and is one of the most scenic roadways in the area. The road closure provided bicyclists and pedestrians with an opportunity to ride and walk on a stretch of road -- with no motor vehicle traffic -- that has rolling hills, lush vegetation and impressive views of the Sierra Nevada mountains. Fair Oaks Boulevard Improvements: Phase 1: This project includes the first phase of improvements on Fair Oaks Boulevard identified in the Fair Oaks Boulevard Corridor Plan. The project proposes to provide “complete street” improvements at the Fair Oaks Boulevard at Marconi Avenue intersection including: curb, gutter, sidewalk, and bicycle lane improvements; landscaping/streetscape amenities; decorative gateway monuments; traffic signal modifications and upgrades to bring the intersection into compliance with ADA requirements; improved street lighting.
