We provide our customers with with green waste collection service every other week, in part to meet State mandates to reduce landfill waste by 50%.
Containers: Residents have a choice of a 30, 60 and 90-gallon green waste container. Residents can receive one additional green waste container for no additional charge. Additional green waste containers (more than two) per residence can be obtained for a fee of $2 per container per month.

Collection Schedule:

Green waste and mixed recycling are collected on an alternating week basis. Green waste is collected one week and mixed recycling the next.

Containers must be at the curbside no later than 6 a.m., on your scheduled collection day, holidays included.

Container Set-out: Please place containers on the street side to avoid blocking use of sidewalks. Keep a minimum of six (6) feet away from cars, boats and other stationary objects to avoid risk of private property damage. Note that green waste and mixed recycling are collected on alternating week. Email or call 916-875-5555 to request a schedule.

Placement and Storage: Please remove containers from the curbside after they are serviced on collection day. To improve neighborhood appearance, store containers in side or backyards after servicing.
Container Replacement or Repair: To request any type of repair or replacement for garbage, green waste or mixed recycling containers, residents should contact Customer Service by email or by calling 916-875-5555. There is no extra charge for repairing or replacing damaged containers.

Filling Containers:
- Materials must fall freely from container when dumped
- Containers may not be serviced if they are overfilled, are not accessible or include inappropriate items

- Prunings (less than 4 inches in diameter and cut to fit inside container)
- Leaves
- Grass Clippings
- Weeds
- Unacceptable materials -
- NO plastic bags
- NO household garbage
- NO concrete, rocks or dirt
- NO treated or painted wood
- NO animal waste
- NO glass
- NO metal
- NO garden hoses
- NO stumps
- NO lawn chairs
