The County of Sacramento operates an anti-freeze, batteries, oil and paint (ABOP) Facility at the Kiefer Landfill and a Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Facility at the North Area Recovery Station (NARS). The City of Sacramento operates a HHW facility under contract with the Sacramento Recycling and Transfer Station (SRTS). County residents can drop off ABOP materials at any of these locations and HHW materials at either NARS or SRTS free of charge. Businesses may also bring hazardous waste materials to NARS or SRTS, but will be charged fees for each type of material.
