Kid Connection

Help Us Reduce, Reuse and Recycle!

Kids, be part of the Sacramento County Green Team! Make good habits now to Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. Help your family buy items that have already been recycled, such as aluminum and steel cans. Maybe you can even build a compost pile in your back yard or a worm box for composting your fruit and vegetable scraps.Graphic of a blonde male child pulling a wagon of recyclable items

Roger Reduce Says: "Buy things in bulk that have little or no packaging. By doing so, you'll create less waste, our landfills will last longer and we'll have more space for our garbage. If everyone does his or her part, we will make a difference!"

Rachel Reuse Says: "Use a lunch box or reusable bag instead of a paper bag to carry your lunch to school. Pack your food in reusable containers and add great items that do not have packaging such as carrots, apples and pears!"

Ryan Recycle Says: "Look for recycling containers at schools and in parks to dispose your empty soda bottles and cans. By recycling them, you help save natural resources, energy and valuable landfill space!"
