Neighborhood Clean Up by Appointment

Sacramento County will provide one free pick-up of your bulky waste per year by appointment. Simply call the County at 916-875-5555 to schedule a pick-up. Additional pick-ups can be requested for a nominal fee of $25 each.

Place materials out for collection no more than 24 hours before pick-up

Place your pile in front of your home, at the edge of the street

Don't place pile next to garbage containers or parked vehicles and do not block traffic

Piles without appointment will cost $50

Extra material is allowed at a cost of $25 per five (5) cubic yards
Amount of Material: Five (5) cubic yards of material, which is a pile about 8' x 4' x 4', is the maximum that will be accepted. This is also about the size of a pick up truck bed filled to the top of the cab. Extra material will be picked up for a charge of $25 per five (5) cubic yards.
Where to Place Materials:
- In front of your residence and on the same side of the street
- At the edge of the street without blocking vehicular or pedestrian traffic
- Do not place materials next to the garbage containers or parked vehicles, in open drainage ditches or against fences
- Please do not place reusable containers with rubbish unless you want to dispose of them

- Please use your green waste container a much as possible for leaves, grass, weeds and pruning's.
- Tree/shrub trimmings for the Neighborhood Cleanup program shall not exceed four (4) inches in diameter and five (5) feet in length.
- Lawn clippings and leaves should be placed in plastic bags
- Lumber (not to exceed four inches in diameter and five feet in length)
PVC Pipe (not to exceed four inches in diameter and five feet in length)
- Tires (no rims)

- Dirt, rocks, and bricks
- Garbage from households
- Hazardous waste:
- Waste such as paint, motor oil, anti-freeze, etc. are not accepted by this program but may be taken to NARS or Kiefer Landfill free of charge.
- Anti-freeze, car batteries, motor and latex paint can be taken can be taken to the Kiefer Landfill and NARS.
- Heavy materials such as auto bodies, engines transmissions and other large vehicle parts, i.e. car doors, bumpers and camper shells
