Second Chance Week Calendar 2009 now available
|
Second Chance Week is a grassroots public awareness campaign held during the third week of each October to promote reuse, repair, resale and donation opportunities throughout California. During Second Chance Week, local governments, community groups, reuse businesses, and other organizations work together to hold activities geared towards promoting the use of reusable items. Items that might otherwise have been thrown away are given a “second chance.”
Originally conceived several years ago, the intent of the Second Chance Calendar is to promote reuse, repair, resale and donation opportunities throughout Sacramento County. The Department of Waste Management and Recycling encourages our customers to take a "Second Chance" on those items they may be ready to toss to make sure they don't end up in the landfill.
